I like the momo sampler with 4 type of different momos. Also, the lamb rogan josh is delicious. I also recommend to try the milk tea, it was tasty too.

Thamel Eatery is the kind of place where the food truly speaks for itself! One of the best place to get Nepali food ... no need for fancy frills, just pure, authentic goodness. You’ll walk out planning your next visit! Highly recommend their Chicken jhol momo, chowmein and Thukpa

Thamel Eatery is a hidden gem in Edmonton, bringing authentic Nepali flavors to the city. Their Jhol Momo is a must-try, with a rich, flavorful soup that tastes just like home. The Thamel Chicken Taas is perfectly spiced and crispy, capturing the true essence of Nepali food. The Mutton Biryani is aromatic and well-balanced, with tender meat and fragrant rice. If you're craving authentic Nepali cuisine, this place won't disappoint!

Love this place! The food has been consistently amazing every single time we’ve been here. We tried their Thukpa only recently and it was mind-blowingly delicious. We usually love to have their Chat/Jhol/Tandoori momos. They also have a mini pantry of Nepalese ingredients that they sell. The owner is fantastic to chat with, he once patiently explained how they use these ingredients in their cooking and gave us samples to try before we bought them.

Since Im a big fan of Momos, I ordered the Momo platter and I decided to add the Chow Mien and it was one of the best! Well-seasoned well-portioned and I would say its great value for money. Place was good and the service was fast! I would definitely go back to try other items on their menu.

This is our first time trying Nepalese food & we LOVED IT! We tried the cauliflower dish (forgot its actual name), momo sampler, and goat curry. All dishes were amazing, especially momo. I will never forget the first bite. Lovely experience with a super nice owner. Highly recommended!!

On September 24th, I had the pleasure of dining at Thamel Eatery, a cozy Nepalese restaurant located at 12413 118 Ave NW in Edmonton. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted warmly by Rajiv, who shook my hand and promptly guided me to my table. He brought water and menus within minutes and engaged me in friendly conversation while I waited for the rest of my party to join. When my guests arrived a few minutes later, Rajiv made sure they were comfortably seated. After giving us some time to peruse the menu, he checked in to see if we were ready for beverages. Since we needed more time, he kindly encouraged us to relax, chat, and take our time before deciding. His attentive, yet laid-back service left us feeling right at home. About 15 minutes later, I placed my order: the Momo Sampler (Chicken) and Kwati Nepali as starters, followed by the Thamel BBQ Chicken with fried rice for my entree. The Momo Sampler, a plate of Nepalese dumplings prepared four ways—steamed, pan-fried, fried, and Tandoori—was exactly what I expected: flavorful and delicious. However, the Kwati Nepali, a traditional soup made from a mix of nine sprouted beans, slow-cooked with spices and herbs, stole the show. Served piping hot, it remained warm throughout the entire 90 minutes we were there. Its rich, comforting flavors felt like a warm hug on a cold winter’s day, making it my favorite dish of the night. For my main course, I enjoyed the Thamel BBQ Chicken, a marinated chicken thigh seasoned with Nepalese spices, served on a bed of fried rice. While the portion of rice was a bit larger than I anticipated, the dish was flavorful and thoroughly satisfying. Though Thamel Eatery is a bit out of the way for me, as I live in the southeast corner of the city, I would absolutely make the trip again. It’s a hidden gem that’s well worth the drive.

Don't let the unassuming, 'hole-in-the-wall' appearance of Thamel Nepali Restaurant fool you – this place is a hidden gem! We were absolutely blown away by the incredible taste and generous portions of everything we ordered. The menu is packed with flavorful Nepali and Indo-Chinese delights, and we sampled a wide variety. The spicy chicken wings had a fantastic kick, the chilli chicken dry was perfectly balanced, and the momos (both chicken and veg chilli) were simply divine. The paneer momo roll was a unique and delicious treat, and the schezwan chicken fried rice was a crowd-pleaser. Even our kids, who can be picky eaters, absolutely loved everything! What truly made our experience exceptional was the warm and welcoming service. The lovely lady who took our orders and served us was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel right at home. It's clear that she puts her heart into her work. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Nepali food with generous portions and genuine hospitality, Thamel Nepali Restaurant is a must-try. We'll definitely be back!
